Hello:
I just left from Miami. So as my experience, you have many choice to do.
1. ask for your friend to pick you up, and the fee 50$ is too much. otherwise you're a rich man.
2. take bus, metrobus run from 5am. you can go to Douglas road station and there are many lines to go to airport. please visit the miami metro transport website.
3. to rent a car and return it at airport and this costs about 30$ a day.
4. call the super shuttle, and they will pick you up at your residency, on time and cheap. I remembered 15$ per trip, person and depends on your zip code. keyword is supershuttle.
